Christopher Welker

Literary fiction author

Debut Author

Christopher Welker is an author and poet whose work explores presence, memory, and the emotional weight of ordinary moments. His fiction, essays, and poems focus not on what happens, but on what remains—the breath held after a conversation ends, the questions carried silently across years, the smallest choices that shift a life.

He writes slowly and deliberately, often returning to themes of grief, responsibility, emotional inheritance, and the quiet decision to stay. His debut novel, Every Lifetime, You, is forthcoming in winter 2026. He also shares new poems weekly and is currently building a longform archive of essays, many of which unfold from parenthood, silence, and the unspoken histories that shape us.

His work doesn't try to explain. It tries to stay—long enough for the truth to surface.

He is the founder of Hushmark, a literary imprint dedicated to emotionally immersive fiction and supportive nonfiction—books for anyone navigating what it means to stay, help, or hold on.
